Position Description 

Facilitator

The Facilitator works in the domestic violence program and conducts or co-facilitates offender group counseling, education, and/or intervention.


Essential Duties 

This position includes, but is not limited to, the following essential functions:

  • Provide or co-facilitate group counseling sessions, intervention, education, and community resources to clients.

  • Comply with all HIPAA regulations in coordination with the HIPAA Compliance Officer.

  • Abide by all Trivium Life Services Corporate Compliance policies and Code of Ethics.

  • Attend staff/supervision/agency meetings and trainings within established time frame.

  • Provide updates to the Clinical Director on clients attending group sessions.

  • Comply with and adhere to all regulatory requirements and domestic violence policies and procedures as documented by the Idaho Council on Domestic Violence and Victim Assistance, Minimum Standards for Domestic Violence Offender Intervention Programs.

  • Maintain all client documentation and release for billing in the electronic record within established time frame.

  • Receive payments and provide receipts to clients.

  • Send referral sources appropriate paperwork regarding client status within required time frame.

  • May be required to attend court if subpoenaed.

  • Immediately notify the Clinical Director if clients exhibit inappropriate or aggressive behavior.

  • Become trained in and execute with high fidelity approved curriculums provided for the Trivium Life Services Domestic Violence Program.

  • Contribute to developing an ongoing resource database and networking with community partners to build relationships while representing Trivium Life Services.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of the judicial system and state and federal laws regarding domestic violence; the protection order process as well as how the system responds when orders have been violated; the legal consequences of failure by the offender to complete mandated intervention.

  • Demonstrate specific knowledge of their legal and ethical responsibilities to protect victims and potential victims and to report child abuse.

  • Holds themselves accountable for their performance.

  • Ability to coordinate care, delegate tasks, provide referrals and problem solve as needed.

  • While performing the responsibilities of the Facilitator job, the employee is required to talk and hear.  The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.  The employee is often required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and may kneel or crouch.  Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

  • Working Conditions Working conditions are normal for an office environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.  Will require occasional weekend and/or evening work.


Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or actively working towards a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science related field.

  • Experience in domestic violence and behavioral health preferred.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Trainee or Direct Service Provider status
